This online course is intended for all persons Handling, Offering and Transporting
Dangerous Goods in Canada. This is a pre-requisite for Guideline B - people handling
Dangerous goods, Guideline C - Offering For Transport Dangerous Goods or Guideline
D - Transporting Dangerous Goods.

This course has been approved for 4 hours.

Testing:
Quizzes - All quizzes must be passed with a 70% to proceed forward to the
next lesson.
Final Exam- Final Exam must be passed with a 70% to pass the course.
The final exam can be taken three times if necessary.

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Understand the basics of the legislation, history, the act and the regulations, and
defined legislated responsibilities
- Identify the Classification System, nine classes of dangerous goods and their associated
hazards
- Learn the shipping names, classes, UN Number and packing groups for dangerous goods
encountered on the job
- Understand the information required on the shipping document
- Understand the requirements regarding mixed loads, segregation of dangerous goods
- Choosing the proper means of containment
- Learn the proper use of all equipment that is used in the handling, offering for
transport and or transportation of dangerous goods
- Dangerous goods and ERAP’s (Emergency Response Assistance Plans, Emergency Response
and Reporting Requirements)
